Title

RIT Photo Alum Oral History collection

Description

The RIT Archives Photo Alum Oral History collection features the voices, memories, and career experiences of RIT trained photographers. We believe that working with alumni in this way fosters community-building and bridges generations, enabling all involved to think deeper and more critically.

On an annual basis, oral histories from this collection are integrated with an exhibit of a selected alum’s photography in The RIT Archives Photo Alum Gallery on the first floor of Wallace Library. The inaugural Fall 2023 exhibit, “Chasing the Rectangle: Chris Nakis (RIT Photo, ‘83),” was curated by student Emma Truscott (Photographic and Imaging Arts BFA, ‘24), based on an oral history interview series that she conducted with alum Christopher Nakis during the Spring 2023 semester.

To suggest a photo alum for potential interview, please email us at ritarchive@rit.edu.
